What Clear Square is
Clear Square is a marketplace connecting buyers and sellers. We provide the listing, search, and payment infrastructure — we are not a party to the sale itself, and we don't own, inspect, or guarantee any listed item, property, or job.
AI-generated content
Some listing descriptions, FAQ answers, photo captions, and attribute extractions on this platform are generated or assisted by AI models, based on photos and details the seller provides. AI can misread or overstate details. AI-generated content is a convenience, not a verified fact — always confirm condition, specifications, and other claims directly with the seller before buying, bidding, or paying.
Sellers
You're responsible for the accuracy of your listings, for having the right to sell what you list, and for fulfilling sales you accept. Fees are shown at listing/checkout time and taken via Stripe Connect.
Buyers
Payments are processed by Stripe. Auctions are binding — placing a bid is a commitment to buy at that price if you win, subject to the seller's reserve.
Fees and off-platform outcomes
Clear Square fees apply only where the platform shows and processes that fee, such as an on-platform Stripe Connect checkout or promotion purchase. Property, jobs, and other lead-style outcomes that complete outside platform checkout are not charged a v1 off-platform success fee.
Refunds
Refunds for completed marketplace purchases are handled case by case. If a seller cannot fulfil an order, the item is materially misrepresented, or a payment was made in error, contact support promptly with the listing, order, and payment details. Stripe processing timelines may affect when funds appear back on a card or account.
Disputes
Buyers and sellers should first try to resolve transaction issues directly and in good faith. Clear Square may review listing content, payment records, messages available to the platform, and moderation reports to help resolve a dispute, but we are not a court, insurer, or escrow agent. Serious fraud, safety, or legal issues may be referred to the relevant provider or authority.
Prohibited content
No illegal items, counterfeit goods, or scam listings. We can remove any listing, image, or account that violates these terms, at our discretion.
Liability
Clear Square is provided "as is." We're not liable for disputes between buyers and sellers, for the accuracy of AI-generated content, or for losses arising from a transaction made through the platform, to the extent permitted by New Zealand law.
Moderation
Users can report suspicious listings. We may remove listings, images, reports, or accounts where content appears unsafe, misleading, illegal, abusive, or inconsistent with marketplace rules. Moderation decisions may be made quickly to reduce harm and reviewed afterward if new information is provided.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
